FULL Make a Jogakbo Butterfly with Artist Miryeong Hong: In-Person Event Signup
Jogakbo is a traditional Korean patchwork embedded with history. ‘Jogak' means 'pieces', 'Bo' means a wrapping bag. Jogakbo's main use is as Bojagi, a traditional Korean wrapping cloth, but nowadays Jogakbo can be found as art, lighting, handbags, table linens, and more.
Join Artist Miryeong Hong to create a Jogakbo butterfly using two pieces of fabric. This is a handsewing project suitable for adult beginners and all supplies will be provided, but experienced sewers are welcome to bring their favorite thimble, sewing scissors, Hera maker, or cutting mat.
Registration opens two weeks before the class at 9am on 1/27. Class full? Call Sequoya Library to inquire about a wait list spot. This class will also be repeated on February 22 with registration opening at 9am on 2/8.
This activity coincides with the Jogakbo--Traditional Korean Patchwork exhibit at the Sequoya Library by artist Miryeong Hong which runs from December 8, 2023 through February, 2024.
