Music & Lyrics: True Stories of an Underground Scene

Is there anything more satisfying than hearing the first few notes of your favorite song? We want to hear about that magical moment or any other related to music.

Music + Lyrics: True Stories of an Underground Scene is a storytelling open mic where folx from all walks of life can share their hip-hop experiences - from battle rap to pop music - in a 5-minute story.

There will be guest artists - TBD -  who will also share their stories throughout the event, and a performance by Rob Dz. As storytellers share, attendees can post on the positivity board and share their comments, feedback, and reflections for the performers.

This event is presented by Charles Payne, Mel Hammond and Zachary Shea - co-founders of Mad City Story Slam - in partnership with the Madison Public Library - a collaboration initiated through the Library Takeover program.
