Jazz at Sequoya: Caravan
Join us for Saturday Jazz! This month, we will have a performance by Caravan, the duo of Christo Ruppenthal and Scott Hlavenka.
Caravan - “Hot Jazz à la Django!”
Caravan is a world traveling instrumental acoustic jazz group based in Madison, Wisconsin. They are primarily influenced by the legendary Romani Jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. The duo also pulls influences from American jazz, European Folk Music, traditional Latin, Parisian waltz, and other vintage-jazz sources. Expect a range of tunes from the “Hot Swing" repertoire, originals, and standards done in uniquely arranged styles.
Our Jazz series takes place on the third Saturday of the month, August-December. Jazz at Sequoya is sponsored by the Friends of Sequoya Library.
