First Monday, First Person: A Memoir Writers Salon

Description

Join memoir writing coach Sarah White for this FREE read-and-share event. Sign up on arrival to read on a first-come, first-served basis, and receive group feedback. Come and share and comment on writing in the first person with like-minded people. Listeners welcome as well as readers.

November special theme: “Celebration of Lives”
Since COVID, too many of us have been left with little or no opportunity to commemorate a friend or family member’s passing. If you are inspired to do so, please bring a photo or memento and share a story about a loved one who has passed.

December special theme: Book Launch for Homeward, a Guided Autobiography anthology
Two of my former GAB students, Josh Feyen and Cam French, have essays accepted for the second anthology published by the Birren Institute for Guided Autobiography, Homeward: Personal Stories on the Search for Belonging. We’ll celebrate their success as they read their published essays. (Other stories are welcome, following the special readings.)

When: Every First Monday, beginning April 4, 2022 thru December 5, 2022 from 6:00 - 7:45 p.m.

Where: Join us in person at the Goodman South Madison Library Community Room, 2222 S. Park Street.

Free. No advance registration required. Food and beverages are welcome!
