Naturalist-in-Residence: Mindful Birding at Owen Conservation Park

Description

Disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature on a mindful birding walk. On this slow-paced hike, you’ll learn how to identify some common bird species that live in the Madison area by using your senses and printed field guides. We’ll also practice some mindfulness activities along our route such as sound meditation and sit spot birding.

You can enhance your experience by checking out a Birding Backpack from one of our nine locations. Birding Backpacks include adult and child binoculars and field guides.

Owen Conservation Park is located at 6021 Old Sauk Rd, Madison, WI 53705.

Registration is required for this Naturalist event.

Part of Madison Public Library's Naturalist-in-Residence program. The Naturalist-in-Residence is made possible in part through the generous support of Nancy Leff and Kenneth Lerner, and in partnership with Madison Parks.
