Yellow bird on a yellow flower watercolor

Have you been interested in trying watercolors, but haven't known how to get started?  Then this is the class for you! We will be starting with the very basics of watercolor painting.  Group instruction about materials and techniques will be provided by current Sequoya Library artist Katherine Moore.  We will then spend time with our new techniques to paint a watercolor bird.  All materials provided.  Age 15+

Registration opens April 12 at 9am.

This event coincides with the Nature's Delights: Madison's Urban Ecology art exhibit at the Sequoya Library by Katherine Moore of Lost Feather Studio. The exhibit runs from March 4 through May, 2024.

Artist Statement: The richness of the urban ecology in Madison never ceases to surprise me. Finding owl tracks in the fresh snow, a heart-shaped lichen, or a fish tail a mile from Lake Wingra leaves me full of awe and wonder. They remind me that despite our parking lots and stoplights and noise, the magical delights of nature abound. My art attempts to capture and share the beautiful moments happening right outside our front door.
